Our Approach

When creating a new website, we follow these basic steps...
  1. Design Brief: Discuss the requirement with the client - either on-site or via email - and create a documented brief. This will include a summary of the design and functionality, cost details, timescales etc.
  2. Initial Payment & Test Site: Once the brief is agreed we create an initial test site, complete with administration system - this enables the client to monitor the site's progress. At this point we normally ask for a deposit of 33% - this is fully refundable if the site is not completed for any reason
  3. Develop The Site: The test site's functionality and style are then developed by us, in parallel with the content being added by the client through the administration system
  4. Publish & Invoice: Once the client is satisfied with the website's style, look and content, we publish the site to it's proper domain name and invoice for the remainder of the site development cost.
  5. Maintain & Support: Thereafter, you, the client, can manage the site content through our simple to use administration system. We are of course available for support, advice and enhancements to your site as well as to note suggestions for future improvements. Note that after the first year there will be an annual fee to cover hosting, maintainance, domain name re-registration, support etc. This will depend on the site but would normally start at around £200 per year.
Things that you, the client, will need to consider when creating a new website...
  1. Functionality and Content: What do you want your site to do and say? We can create sites which contain simple text and images or sites which interact with the visitor in some way
  2. Style: How do you want your site to look? You may have an existing style you would like us to follow or you may want us to create a style from scratch. Please read our accessibility page for some design issues which we suggest you consider.
  3. Domain Name: This is the 'address' of your site, for example bobsmith.co.uk. Domain names must be unique and finding an available name is often surprisingly difficult. If you are a school, you should have already been allocated a name in the form schoolname.town.sch.uk. This site contains a page for helping to find an available name.
